  • Theater Interest Meeting: There will be a Theatre Interest Meeting on Tuesday, August 26th at 8am in Room 110. All students, parents, and faculty who are interested in being a part of play production (onstage/backstage/audience) should come. The fall production, audition/rehearsal dates, and other important information will be announced at that time.
  • Christian Service Opportunity: The Muscular Dystrophy Association is holding their annual Jerry lewis Telethon on  Labor Day weekend.   They are looking for up to 15 phone volunteers to take pledges in each of two time slots on Monday, Sept 1st, in the afternoon (shifts: 2:30pm to 4:05 or 3:30pm to 4:30).  The Telethon will be at KETK Region 56 studios.  The opportunity is open to all students; moreover, student organizations  are asked to consider covering a time slot with 10-15 students.  If you are interested in filling a time slot, please contact Cathy Carney, ccarney@tkgorman.net or (903) 561-2424, by Monday, August 25th, at 1pm.  The positions are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Looking Ahead
    • Parent Open House: All parents and guardians are invited and encouraged to attend the Gorman Parent Open House.  The program will begin in the cafeteria at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, August 25, 2008.   After a brief introduction, parents or guardians will follow their child's schedule, meeting each of the teachers and be able to review class grading policies, procedures, and syllabus.
    • Fall Portraits: Thursday, August 28, 2008 from 7:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.  All grade levels will be photographed.  Students should wear regular school uniforms.
    • Fiftieth Anniversary Mass: The opening of Gorman will be celebrated on the2nd of September, fifty years to the day of the opening of the school, with a Mass celebrated by Bishop Corrada at 9:50 a.m. in Haddad Gym.  All are invited to attend.  A special invitation to all Gorman alumni, form,er students, former staff and parents or grandparents.
    • Fifty Hours of Adoration: As part of the fiftieth anniversary celebrations, parents, students, alumni, guardians, staff and friends of Bishop Gorman School are invited to prayer and participation in Fifty Hours of Adoration in the Gorman Chapel.  Adoration will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday September 2, 2008 and conclude at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 4, 2008.  Please call or e-mail Beth Scirot to sign up for an hour time slot:  903.561.2424 or bscirto@tkgorman.net.
  • After School Pickup:
    • Parents and guardians are asked to park their vehicles in either the MS parking lot or along the front curb and ask students to come to the vehicle or get out of the vehicle to go get the student.
    • Students and parents or guardians alike should use the crosswalks to cross any parking area or street.
    • Parents and guardians are asked NOT to use cell phones while driving on the Gorman campus where children are present.  Please be completely attentive to the lives and safety of the children on the school grounds.
