Summer Circulation

Summer circulation took place during May 27 to 29 for returning students and faculty to check out library materials. All materials checked out are to be kept by users until they return from their summer break. Happy reading!

New Ideas for Reading Incentives

In order to improve our current program and promote good books, the Holy Family Library is looking into new ideas and reading incentives. If you would like to join in this effort, please email Mrs. Wellmon at cwellmon@tkgorman.net to leave us your contact information and ideas. We are planning to hold a public meeting to brainstorm this issue early next fall.

AR Changes for 08-09 School Year

New program changes are in store for the Accelerated Reader program for the 2008-2009 school year.  The library is exploring various strategies that encourage students to read sound literature: Great Books Cultivate Greatness.  Incentives and rewards for next year's program will be based on students' success with Great Books.  Watch here for more information in the fall.

Summer AR Station

A special AR station is set up by Mrs. Wallace’s desk. Both student and adult readers may check in with the office to take AR quizzes during their opening hours.

Final AR Store THANKS and PLEDGE!

Many special thanks Diana Jones and Tammy Michaelsen for coordinating and managing a very spectacular and rewarding Final AR Store. Thanks to both for underwriting most of the store expenses. Their wonderful team includes Jo Bacon, Michelle Ihrig, Elisabeth McKinley and Jeanne Ramunni.

Diana and Tammy also spent much time in cleaning up the AR inventory and many older items were donated to Mrs. Mooney’s garage sale.

In order to maintain an attractive new store next season, we need a lot of new parents who would join the AR Team to support the reading program.

The 6th and 8th Grade Readers Did It Too!

No to be out done by 7th grade readers, the 8th grade and 8th grade met their second class challenge in April and May respectively. Participating readers got to enjoy a trip to the TJC Planetarium for a show donated by Cindy Mikule.

Many thanks to “Star Mom” for hosting the show, and sharing her love of the stars and night sky with us!

Other Thanks

  • To Patricia Vazquez and her teams of friends and parents for helping out at the two pizza lunches! Special thanks also for the drinks and desserts!
